A dynamic and expanding shipping company, operating a modern fleet of Bulk Carriers and Tankers, is seeking to strengthen its technical team with the addition of a Superintendent Engineer. Based in Athens, this is a shore-based role offering an exciting opportunity to work closely with a fleet of four bulk carriers, within a business that combines traditional maritime values with a forward-thinking and proactive approach to ship management.

This is a hands-on technical role that requires a practical and engaged mindset. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the ongoing technical performance and compliance of your assigned vessels, liaising with Class, flag, and other regulatory authorities. You will manage vessel budgets and operating expenses, attend vessels globally when required, and oversee the prompt resolution of technical issues. The role also includes oversight of the vessels’ PMS and contributing to the continuous development of the company’s SMS.

To be considered for this role you must meet the following requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering, or sailed as a Chief Engineer for a minimum of 3 years
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar Superintendent role
  • Experience working with Bulk Carriers
  • In-depth knowledge of vessel operations, maintenance, and regulatory compliance
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to thrive under pressure
  • A collaborative mindset with excellent organisational skills

This role is based in Athens and involves regular international travel to attend vessels as needed. A highly competitive salary is on offer, complete with a generous out-of-base allowance when travelling. Travel-related expenses are fully covered by the company. While candidates of any nationality are welcome, please note that relocation support is not available for this position. This is a rare chance to join a respected and growing company where your expertise will have a direct and visible impact on fleet performance. Don’t miss the opportunity—apply now with your CV.
