My client is an experienced bunker craft owner, manager, and operator based in Singapore, the world's largest bunkering port. They offer reliable barging services to ship owners across Asia and beyond using their Singapore-flagged bunker tankers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the technical operations and maintenance of assigned vessels to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations.
- Monitor vessel performance through regular inspections, performance reports, and maintenance records.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules, including dry-docking and special surveys, to minimize downtime and ensure vessel readiness.
- Liaise with vessel crews, technical departments, and external service providers to coordinate repairs, upgrades, and technical support.
- Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Manage technical budgets, control costs, and identify opportunities for operational efficiencies.
- Prepare and review technical reports, including incident investigations, performance analyses, and maintenance records.
- Provide technical guidance and support to vessel crews, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical superintendent role within the maritime industry.
- Strong knowledge of vessel operations, maintenance procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven experience in managing technical budgets and controlling operational costs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Proficiency in using maritime software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in other languages is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel and spend time onboard vessels as required.
