Our client is internationally known and one of the most trusted maritime companies who has been in the business for over 30 years. They have handled some of the most high-profile shipping incidents in their company’s history. The in-house principal consultants and surveyors provide a wide range of academic and hands-on experience that allows for detailed approach and understanding of client’s requirements, combined with expert attendance and investigation at the scene.

Their reputation for excellence and integrity has made them the preferred consultancy for members of the International Group of P&I Clubs, major ship owners and managers, maritime law firms, cargo interests and underwriters around the world.

In this role as a Senior Marine Fire Investigation Specialist, it will be your responsibility to take full authoritative control of marine fire and explosion incidents, with the end goal of forensically investigating the root cause of the incident. This is not a role for somebody looking to spend their days in safety goggles laboratory – it is a role for those who thrive under the immense pressure of investigating the cause of large-scale marine fires, often resulting in casualties, death and the burning/pollution of potentially toxic and harmful cargo. Due to the seniority of this position, the successful candidate will be expected to focus a large chunk of their time developing business and maintaining new and current client relationships.

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • A detailed and extensive background in Forensic Fire Investigation on an industrial scale – Maritime experience preferable

  • Experience in public fire service

  • The ability to communicate fluently in English – Written and Oral

  • Advance knowledge in fire science, fire safety and fire codes

  • Court experience or expert witness training

  • The right to live and work in the UK or Singapore

  • A Degree or Master’s in chemical or electrical engineering – Doctorate preferable

  • Experience dealing with insurance or P&I firms
