Our Client specializes in delivering temporary and permanent mooring solutions for floating offshore units. They provide a fully integrated service—ranging from system design and analysis, equipment supply and management, to all aspects of installation operations. With headquarters in Aberdeen and a dedicated quayside base in Montrose, their experienced team consistently strives to deliver the highest levels of service and support to their clients.

The role involves designing mooring solutions and performing engineering analyses while working independently and collaboratively on technical and non-technical R&D activities related to floating wind and traditional energy projects in the UK and overseas. Responsibilities include attending onshore and offshore operations, sea fastening and mobilisation meetings, inspections, and tests as required. The role also entails preparing proposals for potential clients in response to specific requests and identifying opportunities to develop the business. Maintaining communication with other company functions, external agencies, and experts in naval architecture, renewable energy, marine engineering, and related operational and technical issues is essential, alongside contributing to discussions and promoting institutional learning.

To be eligible for this role you must have:

  • Degree (2.1) in Engineering or Naval Architecture.
  • Some engineering project experience in O&G, marine, consultancy or other related industry e.g. though summer work or interning.
  • Ability to review designs and solutions based on engineering fundamentals.
  • Proactive and self-motivating, with ability to prioritise tasks and efficiently meet deadlines.
  • Some knowledge of Offshore Marine Operations.
  • Basic knowledge in hydrodynamic / structural analysis software such as Orcaflex, Solidworks/Inventor.
  • Ability to work internationally and offshore.

If you’re a motivated engineer with a passion for renewable energy and offshore solutions, we would love to hear from you! Join our client to play a key role in delivering cutting-edge projects while advancing your career in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
