Consortio is delighted to be partnering with a reputable maritime company in search of a qualified Marine HSEQ Superintendent. Based in Athens, Greece, this company has been a stalwart in the maritime industry for 30 years, with a strong reputation for excellence and a commitment to the highest standards of safety and compliance. With 40 dedicated employees and a fleet of 15 bulk carriers, including Panamax and Post-Panamax ships, they are poised for further growth and success.
As a Marine HSEQ Superintendent, you will manage daily HSSEQ issues, electronic filing, and ERP updates. Your responsibilities include monitoring and recording monthly reports for Safety Committee Meetings, drills, trainings, and the Master’s Review, ensuring timely follow-up. You will organize and conduct internal audits, prepare audit reports, and ensure findings are addressed and closed out. Preparing vessels for third-party inspections, such as RightShip and PSC, and managing follow-ups on identified issues is essential. You will participate in investigating incidents, accidents, and near misses, contributing to the continuous improvement of the Safety Management System (SMS). Additionally, you will attend vessels for audits and inspections to verify compliance with SMS and RightShip standards. Promoting safe working practices and fostering a culture of open reporting and continuous improvement across the organization is a key aspect of the role. Identifying training needs for personnel, providing necessary training, and evaluating their performance are also crucial responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Experience with Bulk Carriers in a similar role.
- Seagoing experience to at least Chief Officer level on Bulk or Tanker Ships.
- Proficiency in English
