Joining our clients dynamic team, we're excited to extend an invitation for the role of Field Engineer.

As an integral part of our team of four, specializing in critical services such as RADAR, VHF, and microwave technologies, you'll play a pivotal role in the regular maintenance of existing assets. Additionally, you'll spearhead the planning, installation, and support efforts for our ambitious replacement and upgrade initiatives.

This role entails participation in an on-call rotation, involving one week out of every four, where you'll serve as a point of contact outside regular hours and ensure service availability round-the-clock. To accommodate this, you'll receive weekdays off before and after the on-call period.

Within our clients IT Department, which plays a critical role in maintaining round-the-clock operations, the Navigation Systems team focuses on providing and maintaining essential services such as RADAR, vessel tracking, and radio communications.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure continuous functionality of navigation system sensors to uphold port safety.
  • Diagnose and resolve faults promptly and professionally across the sensor spectrum.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, management, and suppliers to escalate and address issues.
  • Contribute to maintenance and replacement plans for field equipment.
  • Research, specify, and assist in procuring new equipment and services.
  • Manage or contribute significantly to equipment replacement projects.
  • Maintain technical documentation, change control records, and safety documentation.
  • Supervise on-site contractors, ensuring adherence to safety regulations.
  • Support GDPR compliance and cybersecurity principles.
  • Undertake training to maintain expertise and support team development.
  • Adhere to department processes, policies, and service levels.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Full driving license.

Essential Criteria:

  • Technical proficiency in electrical, electronic, and computer-based systems maintenance.
  • IP networking and IT skills for computer-based sensor configuration and maintenance.
  • Advanced proficiency in working at heights and relevant certifications.
  • Compliance with medical evaluations and fitness requirements.
  • Security clearance as per PLA and site requirements.
  • Logical, methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Self-motivated with strong time management skills.
  • Committed to ongoing professional development.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience in the port industry.
  • Previous certification for working at heights.
  • Project management experience or qualification.
  • Understanding of NIS directive principles.
