They are now searching for a qualified Crewing Manager to join the team in Hamburg, Germany.
The Crewing Manager will oversee the crewing operations for 15 Dry Cargo and Bulk Carriers, ensuring smooth and efficient department activities. Key responsibilities include providing direction and leadership to the Crewing Group, conducting interviews, reviewing and improving working procedures, monitoring costs, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. The Manager will also handle crew planning, update the crewing system, and maintain effective communication with clients and other departments.
The Crewing Manager will be responsible for providing direction and leadership to the staff of the Crewing Group, handling daily operations, and communicating key issues to the Fleet Personnel Director. This role involves conducting interviews, reviewing and suggesting improvements to working procedures, monitoring costs, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation such as STCW and MLC. The Manager will identify short and long-term crewing needs, report future requirements, and contribute to sourcing solutions. They will also manage crew planning, update contracts in the computerized system, and ensure effective communication with clients regarding crew changes, training, and approvals. Additionally, the Manager will support Crewing Operators, collaborate with Flag Administration and Travel teams, oversee medical events, review appraisal reports, and update personal records in the crewing system. They will execute any additional duties assigned by the Fleet Personnel Director.
Qualifications needed:
- Maritime studies or equivalent, or seagoing service as a Senior Officer on board.
- Preferred 3 years of relevant experience.
- Excellent command of spoken and written English.
- Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
