We are looking for an experienced Contracts/Senior Contracts Manager, to join one of our clients who spealise in construction projects projects diverse in nature, including schools and colleges, affordable and extra care housing, commercial offices, industrial units, hospitals, medical practices, and agricultural buildings. Our client are a well-established regional construction company dedicated to delivering high-quality projects. Due to their continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join their team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work on diverse and challenging projects. As a well-established regional construction company the role will oversee the delivery of 3 to 4 projects within Mid and North Wales, each managed by a Project or Site Manager, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.

The Role:

As a Contracts Manager, you will play a critical role in the successful delivery of our projects. Your expertise in preparing and adhering to project programmes will be key to ensuring our projects meet their deadlines and budget constraints.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee, organise, and direct on-site construction activities for 3 to 4 projects from inception to completion. Coordinate and supervise a diverse team of subcontractors, suppliers, and direct labour, through Project or Site Managers. Uphold compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times. Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring milestones are met and adjusting plans as necessary to keep projects on track.Manage site teams to ensure efficient and effective project delivery. Monitor project costs and budget, implementing cost-saving measures as required. Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication and effective collaboration. Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings to identify and address any issues or delays promptly. Prepare and submit comprehensive project reports and documentation as required.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven track record in managing construction projects up to £5m.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in contracts management for a general main contractor.
  • Relevant construction qualification (HNC/HND or degree).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, and best practices.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and adhere to detailed project programmes.
  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification.
  • First Aid at Work qualification.
  • Full UK driving licence.
